SERVICE:

Cross-Cultural Service-and-Learning Partnerships

Speak the language of humble service, even if you do not know a foreign language. Work under the direction of nationals who know local methods. Partner with established ministries whose effectiveness continues after you go home.

Live with host families and open a new circle of international friendship. See the world "from their kitchen table"—not from a bus window; not by commuting from a tent-city of folks who return each day to the comfort zone of like-minded travelers. This is more than a swing-a-hammer, get-a-T-shirt, photo-opportunity. IDEA Ministries' distinctive emphasis on personal discipleship is fostered by daily Bible Study with teammates.

Service projects have been conducted in Bangladesh, Costa Rica, Palestine, Mexico, Kenya, and Tanzania. The kinds of service offered include construction assistance, teacher training, eye exams/ lens distribution—each team reflects the skills of its members. Rather than expecting all teams to do the same thing,
Adult Service
IDEA encourages and invites folks with specific skill-sets to form a leadership core around which we can recruit and send an effective team.

LongTermService AdministrationLONG TERM SERVICE:

Administrative Support and Funds-Processing for Overseas Workers

"LTS" provides accounting, administrative, and liaison support for long-term workers with a calling church at home and a supervising group on the field in areas where mission boards and agencies cannot readily go. IDEA currently processes funds from donors for 40 self-supporting workers in 15 countries.
