FIELD TRAINING:
Cross-Cultural Immersion with a Vocational Emphasis
A "boot camp" for mission candidates—that's the best way to understand this comprehensive "test drive" in another culture. Frustrated by watching students spend four (or more) years' worth of tuition while making assumptions about their readiness for cross-cultural service, IDEA Founder "Dr. Van" spun his World War II experience into a trendsetting program which probes a participant's aptitude and flexibility to navigate changes in community, climate, language, culture, and cuisine.

Why wait until you're weighed down by heavy debt and limited curriculum choices?
Why suppose that what you are doing now is what you have to do for the rest of your life?
Explore God's call, and your place, in the mission of Christ's church.
Each Field Training program includes:
- academic study - cross-cultural training, missions principles, possible language study;
- practical ministry - college and adult-level involvement with local ministries, shared leadership, and host-home living;
- spiritual formation - from Opening Retreat through Closing Conference, the emphasis is on authentic, practical spirituality, fostered by daily inductive Bible Study and discussion.
